iOS7 Search Function for iPhone and iPad

How To… Search In iOS7 On Your iPad Or iPhone

by John Carroll on October 9, 2013

Searching in iOS7 is a lot easier than it was in prior versions.

No need to swipe to the spotlight screen.

In any home screen, swipe down from roughly the second row of icons to bring up the search field.

Swipe Down to Search in iOS7

Swipe down too close to the top of the screen and you pull down Notification Center. If that happens, just swipe it back up and try again.

Customizing Spotlight Search

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap General

Settings-General Settings

  • Tap Spotlight Search.
  • Here you can check or uncheck areas that you want Spotlight to search.
