If you’ve ever felt like everything you do online is being tracked… that’s because it is. There are ways to enhance your privacy. A good start is to use a privacy-focused web browser like Brave.

What Is A Web Browser?

It seems like a simple question, but this still perplexes many people. A browser is an application that you use to browse the internet. Common browsers include: Safari made by Apple, Chrome made by Google, and Firefox made by Mozilla. They all serve the same purpose, but differ in the features they offer.

What Does Brave Do?

Brave maximizes privacy by blocking third-party ads, pop-up windows, cross-site tracking, cookies, and fingerprinting. As many elements are not downloaded, Brave loads web pages faster.

Brave also has its own search engine, called Brave Search, that limits data collection and profiling. Give it a try. If you don’t like it, you can always revert to Google or try Startpage, a privacy-focused search engine that offers Google’s search results without tracking users.

Can I Use Brave On My iPad and iPhone?

Yes. The Brave app is available in the App Store. Brave also offers secure cross-device syncing of bookmarks, history, passwords, and other data.

Will Brave Damage My Other Browsers?

No. Using a different browser is like trying on a different coat. It has zero impact on the clothes that are in your wardrobe. If you don’t like it, you can stop using it or delete it.

Should I Delete My Other Browsers?

No. Safari still provides decent privacy, while Chrome is generally considered to be the most compatible with government websites. Deleting these browsers restricts your options and doesn’t enhance your privacy.
