When The Finder Disappears

Sep 22, 2020 | Apple macOS

The Finder is that smiley face icon at the far left-hand corner of the Dock.

It’s always there  . . .  because you can’t move it.

Often when you double-click the Finder nothing appears to happen.

So . . . what should you do?

The first step is to make sure you are in the Finder.

At the top left-hand corner of the Menu Bar, next to the black apple is the name of the active program.

Make sure it says Finder. If not, click the Finder icon in the dock until it does.

Now you can open a Finder window by going to the Menu Bar and choosing File>New Finder Window.

That’s it. Have a good week.
