Where Has The Battery Percentage Gone In Big Sur?

macOS Big Sur has a new battery icon in the menu Bar. Here, you’ll find information on the current power source, items drawing signifigant power and a Battery Preferences… an option that lets you look a little deeper

Actually, a whole lot deeper. There’s more information on power usage and battery options here than any sane person could ever ask for except… there’s no option to put the battery percentage in the menu bar.

If you’d like that, you need to go to System Preferences > Dock and Menu Bar>Battery and check the option ‘Show Percentage’.

I can understand why a Menu Bar option belongs in the ‘Dock and Menu Bar’ section… but as it’s Battery related, maybe Apple should also put it in ‘Battery Preferences’.
